The Chosen
This past year has been the most unusual year I can remember in my lifetime. We don’t know exactly what God is doing – global pandemic; closing of churches while bars and strip clubs are open; societal breakdown with riots in U.S.; rise of Marxism; disputed presidential election – but we trust fully in His sovereignty and believe that He is putting into place His perfect plan.
One plan of His may be that He has led some brilliant and creative people to put together what I believe to be one of the finest films about Jesus ever produced, The Chosen.
For those of you who have watched this series, you know exactly what I am saying! For those who haven’t, please do all you can to watch it.
The Chosen is a 2020 television drama based on the life of Jesus Christ, created, directed and co-written by American filmmaker Dallas Jenkins. It is the first multi-season series about the life of Christ, and season one was the highest crowd-funded TV series or film project of all time. The series’ creators stated that they had hoped to distinguish the new series from previous portrayals of Jesus by crafting a multi-season, episode-based story. The series portrays Jesus “through the eyes of those who met him”.

They are now working on season two and I’m sure it will reach many more people about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Why is this important for us and the new year of 2021? Because our purpose is to share the good news and hope of Jesus to every person in the whole world. This is one vehicle that can help do that. And heavens know the world needs hope now.
I pray that you and your loved ones will be richly blessed by our Lord in the new year. Remember to pray for each other! And to pray for our nation along with the world. The time of Jesus’ return is coming soon.
May we persevere in obedience and service to Him for His glory.
