Personal Reflection

God Created Heaven on Earth

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.” Revelation 21:3

I’m sure there are times when all you see are problems and trials here on earth. “Where is God?” you may wonder. Well, He is right here with you and me. He has made His dwelling place with each person who calls on the name of Jesus to save them and be in them!

I was able to attend a concert recently composed by a full, professional symphony orchestra.  At first, I sat on the edge of my seat so that I could see each instrument perform its part in the music.  I could hear the violins along with the horns and the percussion along with the oboe.

Then, I sat back in my chair, closed my eyes, and began to hear the musical piece as one unit.  Not trying to hear each separate part, I was able to hear the whole, and in doing so, the music carried me along a path of beauty and inspiration.

As the music played, I also began to think that this must be a tiny idea of what the sounds would be like in heaven!  The music will be so beautiful as well as deeply penetrating that we will be carried along the paths of heaven as a gentle breeze.  At that moment, I found God in my thoughts and in my spirit.  He is the creator of all music and uses it to bring his creation to Himself.

I left the concert with a stronger sense of a person whose spirit is uniquely tied to the heavenly Creator of everything.  And with joyful and excited thoughts of heaven. Knowing that God is with us every single second gives us assurance that heaven is right here. We may not see it, but by faith, we know God’s Holy Spirit is strong with us.

And with His presence, there is fullness of joy even among the trials and problems we may have.

Manna From Heaven

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11

The next time you take a walk in nature or hear a young child talk or hear a bird sing, you are part of the music of life that God has given us. As you reflect on the beauty and harmony of all that God has created, just think what it will be like in heaven!

And remember this truth when your house is a mess and dinner isn’t on the table. These are such small problems in life. Turn your eyes away from these little problems and onto God who has much more joy ready for us!
