Helping Others, Personal Reflection

Do What Matters

I just returned from a business trip with my husband. Of course, he was the one working and I got the privilege of enjoying the hotel, pool and great food!

But suddenly my vacation-relaxing-mind began thinking.  The convention motto for the week was: Do What Matters

So, I began thinking how deep and multi-level this motto is. I began to think about it as I made decisions. Do what matters. Kind of puts us in the mind set of excellence doesn’t it?

Or do I just drift through life? Or do I concentrate on what I should do?

Do I pay attention to other people? Take care of my family? Take care of my health? Spend time with the Lord in a daily and deep way?

Should we make goals for our days, weeks and years that are centered on making decisions on doing what really matters?

Yes, it sure would be easier to just lay around and do “what feels good”. But at the end of the day…or our life…wouldn’t we want to know we did what really mattered?

I know my answer to that is yes. I want my life and what I do to matter. To my Lord and all those He puts in my life.

Manna from Heaven

“A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his words, and the deeds of a man’s hands will return to him. The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man is he who listens to counsel.” Proverbs 12:14-15
