Personal Reflection

Prepare Your Heart for Easter

For me, Easter is my favorite ‘holiday’ but more importantly, my favorite Christian celebration because of the tremendous impact it made on civilization.

Easter is not bunnies, colored chicks or chocolates.  It is the defining moment in human history of Jesus Christ dying on the cross and the conquering of death with His resurrected body!

My prayer is that each one of you takes the time this week to mediate and reflect about this life altering happening.  You see, without the resurrection, there is no Christianity.  There is no life after death.  There is no purpose to our faith.  Christianity would then be just like every other religion.

But it isn’t!  Jesus did die for sinners and was raised from the dead so that all of us might live.  For in the cross and resurrection of Jesus, life was forever altered, lives were forever changed, and true Life became possible for you and me.

That’s why we rejoice at Easter.

…and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins…but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”  I Cor. 15:17, 57

He is risen!  He is risen, indeed!
