Our forefathers gave us an irreplaceable gift; in the Declaration of Independence they told King George III in no uncertain terms that one law is greater than the law of a king or Parliament – and that is the law of God.
No matter how many people battle the phrase “separation of church and state” which, by the way, is not in the Declaration or any other law, the foundation of our country and its democracy is that we follow the law of God.
These brave men were taught the truths of the Bible from their childhood and through their years of school and universities. And they believed that God instituted the civil government to protect our rights. The apostle Paul affirmed this godly pattern for all civil government when he wrote, “For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God” (Romans 13:1).
I believe that our nation is leaving the path our forefathers bravely made and it is up to us to fall on our knees and pray.
