Personal Reflection

A Christmas Prayer for You

raysangelMuch can be written and explained and taught this time of year about Christmas. So I decided the best present I could give is to pray for you.

I will ask our Lord to give you:

Real inner joy this season, joy that overflows

Enjoyment in the Lord each day

Genuine love in your life to have and to give

Lots of laughter – and at times laughing so hard you cry

Family get togethers without any tension

A deep appreciation for everyone God has placed in your life

Plenty of sleep!

A sense of peace deep in your soul even if your circumstances aren’t

The ability to truly worship the Lord most High

Easy and safe holiday traffic and travel

A home that is safe and welcoming for all those in it

Time to sit in front of your Christmas tree and just reflect on Christmas and your family

Plenty of good, healthy food. And enjoyment when you have to cook

A heart full of gratitude and thanksgiving

The ability to give. And to give more

Remembrance to take everything to God in prayer

The desire to mediate on the Word of God…just for the sake of obtaining food for your own soul

A child like faith so that you can really trust God in each and every situation

Not being afraid of the future but trusting in the Lord

And the understanding that God did send His Son for us. God loves you so much that He wanted you to have the chance to be saved forever

An Angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord.

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

‘Glory to God in the Highest,
And on earth peace to men
On whom His favor rests.’

Selected verses are from the book of Luke, chapter 2

May you and yours have a wonderful and blessed Christmas! Lane
